Maybe everybody who hears these words imagine coal pits, plants and endless industrial districts. But our nature is beautiful and our people are cheerful and assiduous. One of the most famous resorts in the region (the Slovyansk one) has got mud like famous European resorts. In The Svyatogirsk National Park you will be taken with the nature and such relics as the pines of cretaceous period or giants oaks; with Saint-Uspenska monastery with its unique caves; with the church of Saint Mykolay built into the chalk rock and suspended above the Donets River.

On warm and caressing Sea of Azov shore what is on the south of the region you will find many wonderful places for having rest. This region is reach in historical monuments, which remind to issues of the glorious past: Cossacks` tombs-barrows; the estate of Mr. Bantysh where masters greeted not only tsars but poets and writers; lend where took place the battle of prince Ihor with Polovisians and many others. You will be surprised with tectonic breaks of the Earth named "Kamyani mogili" or with petrified trunks of ancient trees.

Besides, people in our villages sing the songs you will never hear in any other regions in Ukraine.
